I sent Colt to the store to pick something up for dinner and he came
home with this. Love it.
We also bought a little
Christmas tree this past
weekend and Colt
insisted we put it up
right away. Now if only I
could skip doing
homework to drink hot
chocolate and watch
Christmas movies.

Moving
We have officially moved into our new apartment!
Actually we are really excited because it is a basement,
with a lot more space. Now we are in the unpacking
stage. Pictures to come later.
In other news I survived my first primary program on
Sunday. First, we had the older nursery children
come up and sing Jesus Wants Me for A Sunbeam.
I was most nervous for that! And just like I thought
not one of them sang one word. However, it was still
cute. And my one primary child sang with her teachers.
Where I actually started to tear up because I was so happy
everything we had planned turned out okay. It was a success!

Smile, its Friday!
I know I change my background a lot, but I think I found
one that will last. Truthfully I like to browse and change
things around because it distracts me from doing this...
writing lesson plans and reading textbooks. This is
what Colt came home to yesterday, my workspace, and
he just laughed. Only 9 weeks of classes left!

Creativity
The other day I found myself browsing on some blogs
where there were so many cute projects that you can
make yourself. I have always wanted to be one of those
creative people. I think it would be so fun to make cute
decorations for our apartment. So instead of just wanting
to do it I actually made it happen. I went to the craft store
here in Rexburg and it has become one of my favorite stores.
There are now so many things I want to make, but here is my
first project. Before:
After:
I had so much fun making it and helped me deal
with the stress of the busy semester. What should
I make next?

They call me teacher
I always thought the first time I was in charge of the
classroom all day would be overwhelming and scary, but
it wasn't bad. Yesterday my teacher was conducting
parent-teacher conferences so she got a sub but told me
I would be the one in charge and the one teaching all day.
Teachers are amazing. There are so many things to remember
to do to help make the day go smoothly. Luckily I had the sub as
an extra hand to help manage the kids. The day went pretty good
actually and I had a lot of fun! Except there was one thing I said
that I told myself I would never say to a class. It was after lunch
so the kids were pretty much done learning for the day but they
had one more worksheet to finish. I was at the front trying to
give directions and was failing. The kids were talking and coloring
and just not listening. So I said "boys and girls if you do not start
listening right now I will take away recess" Well of course that got
them listening. I was in desperate need, but I really should not have
said that. Recess should never be taken away. However, the weather
was too cold so recess got canceled anyway. Then later in the afternoon
one little boy comes up to me and asks "Why didn't we go to recess?"
Poor little guy he probably thought he was in trouble. But all in all it was a
good day. The real teacher said I did a good job. I am excited for more days
of being the one in charge. I feel pretty official!

This doesn't happen everyday...
Two years ago I was driving in Wilsonville, OR one day
and witnessed a car accident. A younger guy hit a child
trying to cross the street. There was a crosswalk and the
driver and child both stopped thinking the other was going
to go but ended up going at the same time. It was a busy
intersection so there were lots of cars and I didn't know
what to do exactly...so I drove away, called my Mom, and
she instructed that I go back and tell the police what I saw.
I did just that. Which was also a kind of scary thing to do.
They repeat questions multiple times and take down all of
your info. I left the scene with the child lying on the street
holding her leg. Eventually I didn't think too much about it
until last week when my Mom called and said a lawyer wants
to talk to me about what I remember from an accident a couple
years ago. Crazy. Something like this has never happened to me
before! Well I call the lawyer and tell her what I saw. I was a little
nervous to talk to her. I mean what if I change the whole case! But
she was actually very nice and defending the driver. She said everyone
is telling a different story and the child that got hurt is suing for a lot
of money it sounds like. I don't know who I should feel bad for.
Honestly I'm sure the driver will lose. Its crazy how one moment can
change your life!
News from today: It was my first day going to the elementary school
this semester. I am in an ALL day kindergarten class. Oh my goodness!
I have never experienced that before and its interesting. After lunch
they are so done for the day. There really isn't much learning going on
anymore. And I am exhausted! Glad I only go twice a week. We'll see
how it goes for the rest of the semester!
